july 24th - july 31st

I think our seven year old may be the only kid who can go spend the day swimming and boogie boarding in the ocean, and then come home, watch JAWS, and then watch history channel reruns to learn about the Shark Attacks of 1916 that occurred on the very beach we were on all afternoon…AND THEN want to go back the next day…Inspired by all of the shark talk, the boys created shark paintings using acrylic paint on wood.  Follow the link for a more detailed look at how we made the paintings (Shark Paintings).

We also had pizza making night (and actually cooked a few other nights this week as well)…a sharp contrast to most weeks when we order take-out 6/7 evenings.

Anthony tried fishing AGAIN while I did a mini photo shoot with Lennie…We also played Fisher’s new favorite game, Settlers of Catan, which is kind of a nightmare to learn, but really fun once you do!  And we spent the hottest day of the week in our air-conditioned car driving through Forsythe Wildlife Refuge since bird watching is on Fisher’s summer bucket list.
