Fisher and I went to New York City for the day and had SO MUCH FUN! We woke up at 5am to catch the train into the city. First, we headed to Grand Central Station because it’s just such a beautiful building. After walking around the station a little, we had breakfast in the cafe there. Then, we headed to the American Museum of Natural History, which was the activity that Fisher chose for the day. After a couple incorrect subway maneuvers, we finally made it there (still before they opened). Fisher had a blast at the museum and there just wasn’t enough time in the day to see it all, so we’ll definitely be back!
The museum is right across the street from Central Park, so we decided to take a slow walk south through the park. On our walk, we saw the man who makes huge bubbles with a bubble wand (we’ve seen him a few times before), but this time, he invited Fisher to try, which was amazing! Once we finally made it out of Central Park, our plan was to walk through the Plaza (to satiate Fisher’s obsession with Home Alone), but apparently they don’t let you in the actual Plaza anymore. We did walk through the basement, which is filled with shops and restaurants, but it wasn’t really the same…
Then we headed to Rockefeller Center, saw the tree, went to the LEGO store and FAO Schwartz, and grabbed a snack before hopping in a cab and heading back to Penn Station. After an hour on the train, we stopped for some pizza and fries before making the next hour drive home!
